- Ilvuk / Timber - Kv lignum. The most common vledax on the globe and the representative of the species, can be found in mountains, grasslands, and forests.
- Ezi / Ice, cold - Kv glacies. They're characterized by thicker fur and stockier bodies. They can only be found in taigas, the poles, and extremely cold regions.
- Thark / Mangrove, swamp - Kv palus. This subspecies is native to wetland areas, swamps, mangroves, and some jungles.
- Yiri / Cave - Kv caverna. They're adapted to life around caves, cliffs, and the darkness surrounding them.

The species
Vledaxes resemble a failed attempt at the anthro anatomy, even though they evolved this way. They can bend their shoulders at 90° and rotate their wrist like any primates can do. The species has dexterous hands with both hands and feet having paw pads. The feet are slightly bigger and more primate-like to support their weight while the legs don’t have the dew claws and spurs. The vledax hips and legs have a skewed structure that allows some individuals to walk like bipeds.
Both can see in tricolor and said vision is clear and sharp, but lower during the night despite the vledax's nocturnal nature. This gives them the ability to rely on sight just as much as scent to analyze their surroundings. They don't have bioluminescence. Wearing clothes sometimes happens with vledaxes, but isn’t that common. They have the capacity of speech, reading, and the ability to write.

Vledaxes are generally a monogamous species with nearly all of them settling down with a mate. There are rare cases of casanova vleds and those who trade in favors or have a casual hook up. Males and females can mate at any time of the year for fun and socializing, but risk pregnancy at the same time. Once pregnant, a female has a gestation period of about 80 days. Up to 5 pups can be born. About 82% of vledaxes are cisgender and settle down with an opposite-sex mate. A vledax will mainly have an interest in other vledaxes.

Life cycle
A vledax is born dark and gains their colors in their first year. As they reach seniority, they get paler.
Pup - Birth to varis 1 The pups nurse every 4 to 6 hours and still need help regulating their body temperatures. They're completely dependent upon their parents or caretakers for survival. Months later, they learn how to walk, talk, and be more self-sufficient. Young - Varis 2 to varis 5 Between pup and juvenile, this is the most crucial part of their lives. Their skills continue to expand during the remainder of puphood and socialization takes place. Juvenile - Varis 6 to annum 4 They begin to travel with the district and join in hunts. Sexual maturity is reached around that time. They also separate more from the parents and become more independent. Adult - Annum 5 to annum 38 Adulthood is the longest stage and is also when physical and psychological maturity are reached. They must provide entirely for themselves using the skills learned. This is also a significant time because it’s when the life cycle is initiated again by the conception and birth of the adult's own pups. Senior - Annum 39 to annum 45 The individual reaches the stage of wisdom and seniority. Many take their wisdom and foresight to contribute in the advancement of their society. In many cases, the elderly take up a new role of volunteers and mentors who guide the younger generation. They represent a source of information the following generation can tap into. Despite this maximum age, most vledaxes don't reach 15. |

Pack structure
A pack is composed of a few families of isolated vledax populations and may never meet another in their lifetime.
If a vledax has lived in the city, they may adopt the human ways of life.
Territory
Remote areas at the poles or tops of mountains, often using natural caves as shelter. The land may contain 7 to 10 individuals.
- Leader
Physical fights are common and preferred over psychological warfare. Leading role is thus held by the solo/pair that can strike the most fear amongst its members.
- Second-in-Command
Individuals who are given command of the tribe while the leaders are indisposed. They have the responsibility to report everything back to the leaders. - Warrior
They're responsible for the protection of the tribe from any danger and to train members in self-defense. They patrol often the land and guard the territory. - Hunter
While tribes have several members join in hunts, those ranked Hunter will be in charge of said hunt. They choose which area they should hunt on, what type of prey, and how often they should hunt. - Caretaker
Anybody currently taking care of pups such as nursing mothers or guardians. - Neo
Unranked members like pups.
